Happy First Anniversary of Becoming Catholic!

My dear, sweet Colette! Today is your true birthday-the day of your baptism! What a joy that my child has already spent a year as a Catholic. This morning I took you to mass and prayed that the Lord continue to preserve you from the stain of sin, that you may forever be as clean as on that day one year ago. Fr. Vince gave you a special blessing after mass that brought mommy to tears. I am so grateful for the little saint that you are. You won't remember but I took you on a special "baptism day" date to Target for our traditional popcorn and slushie. You had a great time eating each piece of popcorn off of the Starbucks skewers! Since you love balloons so much I figured that would be a great gift for today! You loved toting it around as we ran our errands!!
I am truly enjoying you and your personality. I cannot believe it is only a few more days that I can treasure you as my "only child". But we've been soaking it up, we two. I'm taking in every moment with you. You're starting to walk! Today you did almost ten steps. The look on your face is priceless. You're so proud of yourself, and I am so proud of you. With the walking comes climbing! You've been discovering new vantage points throughout the house! You are just too much joy bundled into such a little person. I cannot believe what a gift from God you are.
